Christmas Tree Permits Available Nov. 21

Travelling to the woods to find the perfect Christmas tree is a holiday tradition for many families. The Bureau of Land Management is happy to be part of that tradition by offering Christmas tree permits for sale starting Monday, Nov. 21.

Permits are available:

  • Online at forestproducts.blm.gov. Select Oregon, and then select Coos Bay District. Visitors can pay for and print a permit from home.
  • In-person at the Coos Bay District Office at 1300 Airport Lane in North Bend. Permits are available for purchase between 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, except for holidays.
Each permit allows the cutting of one personal-use Christmas tree. Permits cost $5.00 per tree and are nonrefundable. There is a limit of five tree permits per household.

Free maps that show locations where visitors are most likely to find a Christmas tree, as well as a link to Coos Bay District transportation maps, are provided at the time of purchase in-person and online. Information on tree cutting guidelines, where people may cut their trees and safety tips are also provided.

Happy Holidays from the Coos Bay District.
