Due to the increase in COVID-19 cases throughout Santa Fe County, the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) will cancel the Northern New Mexico Resource Advisory Council’s (RAC) Dec. 1 field tour and will move the Dec. 2 meeting to all virtual. The Dec. 2 meeting begins at 8:00am, and the agenda will include the following:
- Member training;
- Elections of Chair and Vice Chair;
- Overview of the BLM Farmington, Taos and Rio Puerco Field Office major actions; and
- U.S. Forest Service Carson, Cibola and Santa Fe National Forests Federal Lands Recreation Enhancement Act proposals, with a possibility of voting on the proposals.
A half-hour comment period during which the public may address the RAC will take place during the December 2 meeting from 3:00 - 3:30 p.m. Depending on the number of people wishing to comment, the amount of time for individual oral comments may be limited.
RACs are critical in assisting the BLM in making public land management decisions and continuing to serve local communities. The 12-member Northern New Mexico RAC provides advice and recommendations to the BLM on resource and land management issues within the BLM Farmington, Taos and the Rio Puerco Field Offices. RAC members are citizens who represent varied public land interests.
