EQUIPMENT THEFT AT THE SAN JUAN NATIONAL HISTORIC SITE

Agents from the Visitor and Resource Protection Division are trying to find the whereabouts of the individual who committed a theft of government property at Castillo San Felipe del Morro area.The suspect who committed the acts is light completion, approximately 5’9 tall, dark hair, beard, tattoos on his arms and legs. He uses an earring and is approximately 30 to 40 years old.

The stolen property consists of (3) Stihl Gas Trimmers, (1) RedMax Gas Blower EBZ6500, (1) STIHL Gas Blower BR430, (1) STIHL Gas Blower BR600 and (1) STIHL GAS Blower BR800X. Total valued at $3,830. 00.Theft of Government Property (18 U.S.C. § 641) is a violation of law with a potential 10 years of prison time and a fine.Anyone with information that would help identify this individual can contact him, confidentially, at 787-729-6777 ext. 223. San Juan National Historic Site (San Juan NHS) is comprised of Castillo San Felipe del Morro, Castillo San Cristóbal, Fort San Juan de La Cruz (El Cañuelo), Puerta de San Juan, Paseo del Morro, Plaza de la Rogativa and most of the city wall. The park is open every day except on Thanksgiving Day, Christmas and New Year’s. Hours of operation are 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.
