In an effort to retain experienced staff to help maintain staffing levels across the Bureau of Prisons, Director Peters has expanded and increased retention incentives for retirement eligible staff. Staff eligible to retire through the end of 2022, may be able to receive a retention incentive to continue working! In addition, the percentage of the incentive may increase each year the staff member remains employed beyond their retirement eligibility date, upon annual approval to continue the incentive.
