Border Patrol seizes over 800 pounds of marijuana in four-day operation

U.S. Border Patrol agents in the Rio Grande Valley Sector have seized over 800 pounds of marijuana and arrested 15 individuals during enforcement actions conducted from July 5 to July 8, 2025. These operations highlight the ongoing efforts of Border Patrol agents to secure national borders and disrupt criminal organizations along the Texas-Mexico border.

“These seizures represent a significant disruption to drug trafficking networks operating in our area of responsibility,” said Rio Grande Valley Sector Chief Patrol Agent Gloria I. Chavez. “Our agents are committed to preventing dangerous narcotics from reaching communities streets.”

The narcotics seized and individuals arrested were processed according to Border Patrol guidelines, with all cases referred to appropriate federal agencies for further investigation and prosecution.
