Vilsack: 'We are grateful to have such a talented group of individuals to lead our state offices'

U.S. Department of Agriculture announced the appointment of three new directors.

William Bunce was named a Farm Service Agency state executive director for Wyoming, and Ginger Sykes Torres was appointed a FSA state executive director for Arizona, according to a Dec. 2 news release. Maximiliano Trujillo was named a Rural Development state director in Puerto Rico.

"Here at USDA, we are grateful to have such a talented group of individuals to lead our state offices," U.S. Department of Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack said in the release. "I look forward to the invaluable contributions each of them will bring to our department."

Farm Service Agency state executive directors oversee agency operations and agricultural policy implementation, the release reported. Rural development state directors carrying out USDA's mission, in conjunction with the National Office, to promote strategic goals and lead develop and support for a productive, diverse and inclusive state workforce.

Bunce arrives at USDA with decades of agriculture production and agribusiness experience. He is a graduate of the University of Missouri and has worked in ranch management, agribusiness and livestock breed association management. Bunce was previously marketing director for the Wyoming Department of Agriculture and was a staff director for the Wyoming Business Council, the release reported.

Torres is a graduate of Stanford University's interdisciplinary Earth System's Program. Her career has included time as an environmental planner and civic leader and she has extensive experience in land use planning, environmental impact assessment and environmental policy for federal agencies, utilities and renewable energy developers. Torres is a citizen of the Navajo Nation, according to the release.

Trujillo arrives at USDA with 20 years combined experience working in Congress, the government of Puerto Rico and the private sector. Most recently, Trujillo was policy and strategic government affairs consultant in Washington, where he advised about federal telecommunications, health care and economic development. Trujillo is a graduate of Marquette University and holds a law degree from the Inter-American University of Puerto Rico School of Law . He also holds a master's degree from American University's Washington College of Law, the release reported.
