“Massachusetts’-own Joe Kennedy has been a friend to the island of Ireland and understands the immense progress that has been made since the Good Friday Agreement. As Special Envoy, he will be a catalyst for stability and demonstrate the United States’ enduring commitment to peace. Now is the time to look ahead to what’s possible, and I thank President Biden for making this critical appointment."
