House Energy and Commerce Republican Leader Cathy McMorris Rodgers (R-WA) issued the following statement in response to the Department of Commerce’s recent determination that multiple solar companies with ties to China were able to circumvent U.S. tariffs.
“The fact that President Biden preemptively provided a two-year exemption to companies that his own administration found evaded U.S. tariffs is deeply troubling. Since day one, President Biden has been giving China a pass. The administration has known all along that their radical rush-to-green agenda would make us dangerously dependent on China.
Yet they continue to push policies that hurt Americans, hamstring our domestic energy industries—including wind and solar—and force us to rely on a country with one of the worst environmental and human rights records. It is time for President Biden to abandon his pro-CCP agenda and join Republicans in unleashing American energy production and innovation.”
