Leader Rodgers Commends Bipartisan Bill to Improve Broadcast Services in Rural Communities

Washington, D.C. - House Energy and Commerce Committee Republican Leader Cathy McMorris Rodgers (R-WA) released the following statement on the passage of the bipartisan Low Power Protection Act out of the House:

“Low power television (LPTV) stations play a critical role in ensuring access to local or specialized programming, especially in smaller communities and rural areas. The Low Power Protection Act will help improve these services for people across the country, and we commend the important bipartisan work by Senators Roy Blunt (R-MO) and Ron Wyden (R-OR)."

The Low Power Protection Act (S. 3405), passed the House by a voice vote.
