A book, "Pandemonium: China's Global Strategy to Cripple America," penned by economic and trade expert Curt Ellis shortly before his death in 2021, is being published by Post Hill Press and is receiving praise from a number of policy experts, including Michael Pillsbury, director for Chinese Strategy at the Hudson Institute, and former White House Chief Strategist Steve Bannon, who wrote the book's preface.
In the book, Ellis maintains that China has engaged in decades-long efforts to undermine the United States through economic warfare, unfair trade practices and theft of technology, according to the publisher, and he urges readers to reconsider their position regarding the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and outlines how the nation could be guided by its founding principles of industrial power and self-reliance.
“When the history of this time is written, Curtis Ellis will be remembered as an economic nationalist who answered the call and manned the ramparts,” Bannon wrote in the foreward. “Curtis Ellis was an American Original … a man of ideas and a man of action; Curtis Ellis knew the issues; Curtis Ellis knew the players; Curtis Ellis knew the traps.”
In the book, according to the publisher, Ellis details ways the CCP has tried to derail the U.S. and outlines a proposal for a “New Declaration of Independence” to end American reliance on China. Ellis also targets China’s efforts to manipulate trade, and steal intellectual property and technology in an effort to pass the U.S. as the world’s leading superpower. The publisher also notes that the author points to a return to founding principles as a key solution.
“This compelling book by Curtis Ellis shows why he was a ‘secret weapon’ for our side against Chinese unfair trade practices,” Pillsbury said, according to the publisher. “In ‘Pandemonium: China’s Global Strategy to Cripple America,' Ellis lays out an ingenious plan to set America on a new path.”
The publisher also notes that business leaders have chimed in on the book by Ellis, who died in February 2021 at the age of 67 after fighting cancer, according to his obituary.
“Curtis Ellis’s voice of awareness and enlightenment shines through in this must-read book about China’s strategy to dominate the USA – both economically and militarily,” Dan DiMicco, former chairman of Nucor Steel Corp., said. “He shows how to reset and halt that. His patriotic legacy carries on, as strong as ever, and will not be forgotten.”
Some business leaders with first-hand experience in Chinese markets also touted Ellis’ book.
“Having been involved in doing business with, and in China I can state that they always ‘stack the deck’ against you,” Michael Husar, director of Manufacturing Systems at Delphi Automotive Saginaw Steering Division, said in the news release. “Curtis Ellis lays bare the frightening truth about the CCG in this carefully researched work that should shake American leaders up on how to deal with this threat. This book should be in the hands of every businessperson, economist, policy maker – every American.”
During his career, Ellis served in a number of roles in the media and politics at the local, state, national and international levels, according to his biography on the publisher’s website. He served as a senior policy adviser for Donald Trump’s 2016 presidential campaign and was a member of Trump’s transition team.
The publisher also notes that Ellis worked in the U.S. Department of Labor, served as a senior policy director for America First Policies and advocated for American workers, and was a firm believer in hiring American and buying American.
The publisher also notes in the release that Ellis in 2011 founded the American Jobs Alliance and was a frequent contributor to a number of media outlets, including CNN, MSNBC, Fox, Newsmax, the Financial Times, TIME magazine, Huffington Post, Breitbart, the Daily Caller and various other news sources.
