NRCS Seeks Public Input on Wood-Pawcatuck Watershed Flood Protection Planning

Representatives from the Southern RI Conservation District, NRCS, and their consultants met with partners and the public on January 26th to provide information on the Watershed and Flood Protection program, planning activities to date for the Wood-Pawcatuck Rivers, the various alternatives being considered for flood control, answer questions and concerns about the planned activities, and seek public input.

NRCS and partners are providing a 30-day comment period for the public to provide input about areas of concern in the Wood-Pawcatuck watershed such as: flooding, stream/ river bank erosion, channel blockages and sedimentation, potential pollution sources, etc.

Residents and concerned citizens in the affected areas are invited to submit comments to Wood-Pawc@parecorp.com by March 9, 2023.
