The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) is pleased to welcome Dave Pals as the new field manager for the Moab Field Office. Pals brings experience in natural resources management, geology, and knowledge of the Moab area to his new role. Prior to a six-month stint as the acting field manager for the Moab Field Office, Pals served as the assistant field manager for resources for about two and a half years.
“We are thrilled to announce that Dave Pals has been selected as the new manager of the Moab Field Office,” said BLM Canyon Country District Manager Nicollee Gaddis-Wyatt. “Dave is a thoughtful and analytical leader. He brings extensive experience and passion for responsible resource management to his new role.”
Pals has previously held positions as a geologist in the public and private sector. Prior to joining the BLM, Pals worked as research geologist and exploration manager. He is an Army veteran and served as a field medic. Pals has a master’s degree in geology from Iowa State University.
Pals spends his free time enjoying the outdoor recreation opportunities around Moab. He and his wife enjoy hiking, running, bicycling, camping, and can occasionally be found tooling around the backroads on a dual-sport motorcycle.
