The United States Department of Agriculture’s Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS) seeks public comment on the management alternatives, environmental impacts and other issues of public concern that APHIS should consider in an Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) for predator damage management activities in Oregon.The EIS will direct how APHIS will manage damage and threats caused by wildlife such as coyotes, black bears, mountain lions, Virginia opossum, and wolves. When completed, the EIS will replace APHIS’ environmental assessments on predator damage management in Oregon.This notice also serves to inform the public that the U.S. Forest Service and the U.S. Department of the Interior’s Bureau of Land Management have joined as cooperating agencies in the environmental impact statement process.
