Texas is expected to receive about $27 billion for roads and bridges, $3.4 billion for public transportation and $1.2 billion for airports from the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law and $400 million for electric vehicle chargers, according to the Texas Tribune.

“This administration is investing in America – to make aviation safer and more efficient while also creating good-paying jobs that don’t require a four-year degree,” Secretary of Transportation Pete Buttigieg said in a tweet on April 6. His comments included a link to a tweet by U.S. Rep. Veronica Escobar (D-Tex.), in which the congresswoman noted "historic" federal investments made in her district.

“From new electric vehicles to airport upgrades and renovations, the investments we’ve seen in our community from the federal level have been historic. I want to thank @SecretaryPete for his visit to El Paso today,” Escobar wrote in her tweet.

The U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) reports Texas is set to receive significant funding from President Joe Biden's Bipartisan Infrastructure Law (BIL)

Texas, which has 818 bridges and more than 19,441 miles of highway in poor condition, is expected to receive around $27 billion for roads and bridges. The $3.4 billion for public transportation will help Texas commuters who spend an extra 80.8% of their time commuting, the DOT reports. The $1.2 billion set aside for Texas airports will address needs at airports such as improving runways, taxiways and airport-owned towers, terminal development projects, and noise reduction projects, according to the DOT release.

Another $408 million for electric vehicle chargers in Texas is part of a larger $7.5 billion investment that would build out the first-ever national network of EV chargers in the United States, according to the release. This investment in Texas infrastructure is part of the Biden administration's effort to improve the nation's infrastructure, create jobs, and address climate change.

Siemens has selected Carrollton, Texas, as its second U.S. EV charger manufacturing hub and expects the facility to be fully operational in Spring 2023, according to a White House press statement. The announcement follows Siemens' recent investments of over $140 million in its electrical products manufacturing sites in Grand Prairie, Texas and Pomona, California, which support union jobs.
