Salesforce, the world's leading customer relationship management software company, announced the launch of the next generation of Tableau, featuring generative artificial intelligence for data and analytics.

Salesforce unveiled the newest version of Tableau, powered by Einstein generative AI technology, at Tableau Conference, according to a May 9 news release. Analysts and business users may automate data analysis, anticipate user needs and produce actionable insights automatically using Tableau GPT and Tableau Pulse.

“Generative AI is one of the most transformative technologies of our lifetime — it’s supercharging productivity for people and businesses everywhere,” Tableau President and CEO Ryan Aytay said in the release.

Additionally, new Salesforce Data Cloud for Tableau features will import customer data directly into the visualization tool, combining it in a single view for quick insights, the release reported.

This means the generative AI revolution will revolutionize the way work is done by making it exponentially simpler for everyone to access vast repositories of reliable data and perform their jobs more effectively, according to the release. Nearly 80% of senior IT leaders think generative AI will improve their company's utilization of data, which business leaders generally agree is essential for making decisions.

The inability to derive insights from data, according to one-third of respondents, is a problem for their firms, and 41% claim their data is too complex or not easily accessible for them to understand, the release reported.

Tableau GPT may produce visualizations for sales leaders based on natural language prompts that show ongoing progress toward their quota and offer suggestions for assisting them in achieving their objectives, the release said. Tableau GPT can also produce visuals for commerce leaders that explain why the average order value is declining and offer recommendations on how to fix the issue.

Tableau GPT could also automatically produce visuals for service executives that show changes in the CSAT scores of their teams, indicate potential causes (like a high number of current tickets and a longer response time) and provide remedies, according to the release.
