The "International Summit on Mexican Cartels and Gangs" summit will take place on Nov. 6 - 10. The event will cover a wide array of topics related to Border violence and crime, and will feature many notable speakers. 

According to a Linkedin post from Robert Almonte, the “Mexican Cartels and Gangs” third annual Summit for 2023 will take place from Nov. 6-10, and will be held in San Antonio, TX. According to the post, the event is co-sponsored by the San Antonio Police Department and will feature many speakers. Topics to be covered at the conference include cartel history, motorcycle gangs, human trafficking, fentanyl, money laundering, and more.

The keynote speaker at the event, according to the post, will be Jay Dobyns, who has a wealth of experience in the realm of counter crime operations. He's worked for 27 years as a federal agent, and is especially notable for his efforts against the infamous “Hells Angels” gang. According to the post, Dobyns has been a part of more than “500 undercover operations.”

Per the post, other speakers will also be featured at the conference. Steve Duncan, for instance, has worked for the “California Department of Justice” for two decades, the post states, and has significant experience in cross border crime. Derek Maltz is a former DEA employee who continues to spread his expertise through media appearances. Alex Marentes worked for 30 years in the Albuquerque Police Department, and additionally founded the “Borderland Beat Project,” an initiative that collects and spreads information on the Cartels.
