The United States Border Patrol has been busy the past two months seizing everything from drugs to real estate. This aggressive action comes amidst a nationwide battle against drug trafficking and other illicit activities.
"Since Oct. 1, 2023, the USBP has seized: - 14,700+ lbs. of Narcotics - $533,000+ in Currency - 830+ Conveyances - 60+ Firearms Over $48 Million in seized property taken from the cartels in less than two months!", said Jason Owens.
As part of this massive effort,The statement comes after the revelation that over $281,940 worth of methamphetamine was confiscated by San Diego Sector Border Patrol during a vehicle stop on Interstate 8 the night of Nov. 21.

Details about this particular bust revealAccording to a CBP news release, agents pulled over a blue truck and conducted a traffic stop on the interstate near the Buckman Springs exit. While speaking with the motorist, agents noticed four large bags in the bed of the pickup. A call for a Border Patrol K-9 team was made that alerted agents to the presence of narcotics. The duffle bags in question contained 188 pounds of the crystal-like substance, methamphetamine, in bundles of clear packages containing a crystal-like substance.
Following standard procedures,The motorist and drugs were handed over to the San Diego County Sheriff's Office for additional investigation and processing, and the vehicle was seized by Border Patrol, according to the media release.
To address ongoing concerns,"Our agents will continue to work tirelessly to ensure our communities are safe and that these dangerous drugs stay off our streets," said Chief Patrol Agent Patricia D. McGurk-Daniel.
She emphasized this commitment in light ofThe seizure is part of the recently announced Operation Apollo, that yielded 1,800 pounds of methamphetamine, 2,100 pounds of cocaine, 111 pounds of heroin and 1,285 pounds of fentanyl in the San Diego area during fiscal year 2023, according to the news release.
The agency further clarified,The new release states that Operation Apollo is a combined regional operation involving federal, state and local agencies working together in an effort from keeping fentanyl and other illicit synthetic narcotics off the streets.
