AIA Brings on Veteran National Security Executive as Vice President of National Security Policy

Arlington, Va. (April 23, 2024) – The Aerospace Industries Association (AIA), the leading voice for the American aerospace and defense industry, today announced that national security leader Ryan McDermott has joined as Vice President of National Security Policy.

McDermott joins AIA from his previous role at the Department of the Air Force Cost & Economics office where he served as a Highly Qualified Expert supporting special projects and priority transformation efforts. Prior to joining the Department of the Air Force, McDermott was a Vice President at Professional Services Council, acting as an industry advocate and national security policy expert. McDermott holds a BS in Economics from the United States Military Academy, an MBA from the Darden School of Business, and an MA in Security Studies from Georgetown University.
