The Department of State is offering up to $10 million for information leading to the arrest and/or conviction of Russian national Dmitry Yuryevich Khoroshev, a leader of the LockBit ransomware group. This announcement follows a federal grand jury indictment in New Jersey charging Khoroshev with crimes related to the LockBit ransomware variant.
The Department of the Treasury is also designating Khoroshev for his involvement in developing and distributing LockBit ransomware. Australia and the United Kingdom are joining in by designating Khoroshev under their own cyber sanctions authorities.
These actions highlight the United States' commitment, in collaboration with international partners, to apprehend the cybercriminals responsible for the LockBit ransomware variant. Efforts will continue to disrupt ransomware actors threatening economies and critical infrastructure.
Information regarding Khoroshev can be directed to the FBI via email at fbisupp@fbi.gov, Telegram at @LockbitRewards, or Signal at @FBISupp.01. The Department of the Treasury's actions were carried out in accordance with Executive Order (E.O.) 13694, as amended by E.O. 13757. For more details, refer to Treasury's press release.
