On May 9, 2024, the United States joined the European Union in celebrating Europe Day. The American people extended their warm wishes to the citizens of the EU on this significant occasion.

Europe Day marks the vision shared by French Foreign Minister Robert Schuman seventy-four years ago. He envisaged a community of nations that could foster a prosperous future for Europe's populace. This idea gave birth to the European Coal and Steel Community, which eventually led to the Maastricht Treaty. This treaty brought Schuman's vision of closer cooperation, creative thinking, and enduring unity across Europe into reality.

The celebration of Europe Day also commemorates the partnership between the United States and Europe. The US expressed pride in standing with Europe as they assist Ukraine in its defense efforts, support the Ukrainian people, and hold Russia accountable for its aggression. The US is honored to join European Allies and partners as they mark NATO's 75th anniversary and shape the future of their Alliance.

The US reaffirmed its commitment to shared democratic values and mutual economic prosperity. The Transatlantic relationship, according to them, is stronger than ever.

The citizens, member states, and institutions of the European Union received congratulations and best regards from America on this special day - Happy Europe Day!
