US extends congratulations on 75th anniversary of Council of Europe

The United States has extended its warm congratulations to the Council of Europe on the occasion of its 75th anniversary. The Council of Europe continues to be a guiding light for democracy, human rights, and the rule of law, with its influence growing each year.

Over the past 28 years, the United States has worked in partnership with the Council of Europe on numerous issues. These include advancing human rights, combatting corruption, and countering terrorism. The United States is proud to be a full member of both the Venice Commission and the Group of States Against Corruption. It also serves as an observer to the European Commission Against Racism and Intolerance.

Furthermore, it is a founding Associate Member of the Register of Damage for Russia’s Aggression in Ukraine. The United States values its opportunity to participate in negotiations and join various conventions under the auspices of the Council.
