Under Secretary for Public Diplomacy, Liz Allen, met with Serbian Foreign Minister Marko Djuric today in Belgrade, Serbia. Allen extended her congratulations to the Foreign Minister on his recent appointment. The two dignitaries concurred on the significance of fortifying the U.S.-Serbia bilateral relationship and hastening Serbia's progress toward EU accession.
Allen encouraged ongoing progress toward the normalization of relations with Kosovo through the EU-facilitated Dialogue. She expressed appreciation for Serbia’s contributions to European and regional security, particularly its support for Ukraine.
The Under Secretary and Foreign Minister also deliberated on the importance of countering foreign malign influence to establish an open information space. They discussed potential opportunities to deepen educational and cultural ties between Serbian and American people.
