Arlington, Va. – Aerospace Industries Association (AIA) President and CEO Eric Fanning today commended the House Armed Services Committee for its Fiscal Year 2025 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) markup.
“The Aerospace Industries Association congratulates the House Armed Services Committee on a successful markup of the FY25 National Defense Authorization Act. AIA is grateful to Chairman Rogers, Ranking Member Smith, and the committee for their commitment to strengthening national defense, investing in new technology, and equipping the warfighter," said Fanning.
Fanning emphasized the importance of attention to the defense industrial base: “We thank the committee for paying close attention to the defense industrial base – a key pillar of America’s deterrence posture. The capacity of the defense base is a capability in and of itself and sends a clear signal to potential adversaries that any aggression will be met with unwavering strength and resilience."
He also highlighted hopes for bipartisan cooperation moving forward: “This markup kicks off the annual cycle of funding the Department of Defense and what AIA hopes is a bipartisan effort to improve this budget and better support the defense industrial base and our entire national security enterprise. Predictable, dependable, and sufficient funding is the most important way Congress can provide a stable foundation for its industry partners.”
