Director Manolo Caro and actress Cecilia Suárez will reunite for the new comedy series "Serpientes y Escaleras," following their previous collaborations on "The House of Flowers" (2018) and "Someone Has to Die" (2020). The series, set in Guadalajara, centers on a teacher who becomes entangled in a conflict between two students, an event that dramatically alters her life.
Manolo Caro and Cecilia Suárez have also worked together on several films, including "I Don't Know Whether to Slit My Wrists or Leave Them Long" (2013), "Elvira I Will Give You My Life But I'm Using It" (2014), "Tales of an Immoral Couple" (2016), and "Perfect Strangers" (2018).
“'Serpientes y Escaleras' is a project I've been working on for several years. It's comedy, dark, sexy, and incorrect. In short, it's a return to the genre that makes me happiest but with the learning from the last projects. It's crazy," said Caro.
The cast includes Juan Pablo Medina, Martiño Rivas, Marimar Vega, Benny Emmanuel, Loreto Peralta, Michelle Rodríguez, Alfredo Gatica, Germán Bracco, Gerardo Trejoluna, Luis Felipe Tovar, and features a special performance by Margarita Gralia.
Produced by Woo Films and Noc Noc Cinema with producers María José Córdova, Triana García Simón, Rafael Ley, and Manolo Caro at the helm. The series was written by Manolo Caro along with Alexandro Aldrete, Ángela Armero, and Estibaliz Burgaleta.
