U.S. Assistant Secretary of Defense for Indo-Pacific Security Affairs Ely Ratner met with senior defense policy officials from the "Five Eyes" alliance today on the sidelines of the Shangri-La Dialogue in Singapore. The meeting included Australian Deputy Secretary of Defence Strategy, Policy, and Industry Hugh Jeffrey; Canadian Assistant Deputy Minister (Policy) Peter Hammerschmidt; United Kingdom Director General for Security Policy Paul Wyatt; and New Zealand Ministry of Defence Deputy Secretary Policy & Planning Richard Schmidt.

According to DOD Spokesperson Lt. Col. Martin Meiners, the officials discussed their countries' shared values and commitment to upholding the international, rules-based order. They exchanged views on regional stability and addressed shared security challenges across both the Indo-Pacific and Euro-Atlantic theaters.

The group reaffirmed the importance of continued collaboration to enhance their collective resilience and that of the broader Indo-Pacific region.
