SINGAPORE – U.S. Secretary of Commerce Gina Raimondo and Singapore’s Minister of Communications and Information Josephine Teo convened a roundtable discussion today with business and tech leaders on artificial intelligence (AI). Both officials emphasized the importance of harnessing AI's full potential while promoting high standards for its responsible design, development, and deployment.
Secretary Raimondo and Minister Teo discussed ongoing collaboration between the United States and Singapore on AI, including efforts to align their respective risk mitigation frameworks for AI governance. They facilitated a dialogue with U.S. and Singaporean leaders in technology and innovation to understand industry priorities and explore opportunities for increased bilateral cooperation.
The Department of Commerce and Singapore Ministry of Communications and Information also issued a fact sheet outlining current and future U.S.-Singapore collaboration on AI.
