Apple reveals winners of 2024 design awards for best apps and games

Apple announced the winners of its 2024 Apple Design Awards, recognizing 14 outstanding apps and games. This year’s winners were selected for their design, technical achievement, and innovation.

“It’s inspiring to see how developers are using our technology to create exceptional apps and games that enhance the lives of users,” said Susan Prescott, Apple’s vice president of Worldwide Developer Relations. “This year’s winners have demonstrated how apps can create powerful and moving experiences — and we’re excited to celebrate their hard work and ingenuity at WWDC this year.”

The awards cover seven categories: delight and fun, inclusivity, innovation, interaction, social impact, visuals and graphics, and a new spatial computing category. Winners were chosen from 42 finalists.

In the "delight and fun" category:

- App: Bears Gratitude by Isuru Wanasinghe (Australia)

- Game: NYT Games by The New York Times Company (United States)

In the "inclusivity" category:

- App: oko by AYES (Belgium)

- Game: Crayola Adventures by Red Games Co. (United States)

In the "innovation" category:

- App: Procreate Dreams by Procreate (Australia)

- Game: Lost in Play by Happy Juice Games (Israel)

In the "interaction" category:

- App: Crouton by Devin Davies (New Zealand)

- Game: Rytmos by Floppy Club (Denmark)

In the "social impact" category:

- App: Gentler Streak Fitness Tracker by Gentler Stories (Slovenia)

- Game: The Wreck by The Pixel Hunt (France)

In the "visuals and graphics" category:

- App: Rooms by Things, Inc. (United States)

- Game: Lies of P by NEOWIZ (South Korea)

In the new "spatial computing" category:

- App: djay pro - DJ App & AI Mixer by algoriddim GmbH (Germany)

- Game: Blackbox by Shapes and Stories (United States)

Finalists included notable entries such as Hello Kitty Island Adventure, Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile, DEATH STRANDING DIRECTOR’S CUT, Sky Guide, among others.
