On June 5, 2024, the main auditorium of Rio2C in Rio de Janeiro hosted a panel where Netflix unveiled several upcoming Brazilian productions. The event began with a rap battle to introduce Nova Cena, a new Brazilian musical reality show.

Actors Juliana Paes and Christian Malheiros highlighted several projects, including "Caramelo," Brazil's first film featuring a dog as the protagonist. They also discussed adaptations of Paulo Coelho's "The Pilgrimage" and Edyr Augusto's "Pssica."

"Pssica," produced by Andrea Barata Ribeiro from O2 Filmes and directed by Fernando Meirelles and Quico Meirelles, will begin production soon in Pará. It tells the stories of Janalice, Preá, and Mariangel as they navigate the Amazon basin while dealing with human trafficking, gang leadership, and family vengeance.

Director Diego Freitas is set to helm "Caramelo," which follows the story of a friendly mutt. An exclusive preview of the dog's training was shown during the panel. Paulo Coelho also announced that filming for "The Pilgrimage" would take place in Brazil and Spain.

Gabriel Gurman, Netflix Brazil’s film director, spoke about future projects: “Looking ahead, we are developing several projects...with stories that truly surprise.” The panel paid tribute to Sintonia and revealed the trailer for "Desperate Lies," Netflix’s first Brazilian melodrama series starring Juliana Paes.

Luis Lomenha introduced "The Four from Candelária," a miniseries about the Candelária Massacre seen through the eyes of four children played by Andrei Marques, Samuel Silva, Patrick Congo, and Wendy Queiroz. Lomenha said: “This series talks about Black masculinity...through the dreams of these four boys.”

The event concluded with insights into the miniseries on Ayrton Senna. Producers Fabiano Gullane and Caio Gullane emphasized their passion for accurately portraying Senna’s legacy. Haná Vaisman praised the project's quality: “Nothing surpasses...artistic mastery,” while Fabiano Gullane highlighted the involvement of Brazilian professionals.

From Senna to Nova Cena, Netflix has numerous releases planned for 2024.
