WASHINGTON – Today, global tech trade association ITI reacted to newly reported international trade recommendations released by the President’s Export Council (PEC), encouraging the Biden Administration to increase U.S. global trade leadership and advance digital trade protections. The PEC serves as the principal national advisory committee on international trade.

“Leaders from across diverse industry sectors and now President Biden’s own Export Council have called for the Biden Administration to reclaim U.S. global trade leadership supporting digital services trade to provide much-needed certainty and predictability for all industries that do business across borders,” said ITI President and CEO Jason Oxman. “ITI echoes the PEC’s recommendations and urges the Administration to prioritize bolstering the global digital economy by reestablishing U.S. leadership in the development of robust, binding commitments that facilitate trade, ensuring trading partners adhere to their international commitments, and addressing trade barriers that threaten U.S. competitiveness.”
