Netflix has announced the release date for the third season of "Sweet Home," set to premiere on July 19. The series, which has garnered a global fanbase since its debut, will conclude with this season.
"Sweet Home" first made waves by becoming the first Korean series to enter Netflix's Global Top 10 TV (Non-English) list. Season 1 introduced viewers to a world overrun by monstrous creatures, while Season 2 expanded on this universe and delved into more complex themes.
In the upcoming season, the distinction between humans and monsters becomes increasingly ambiguous as humanity faces the emergence of neohumans in a world teetering on the edge of destruction. This season aims to bring closure to the overarching narrative of transformation and survival.
The promotional poster features Hyun-su (Song Kang) standing amidst a devastated cityscape, his extended monster wing symbolizing internal conflict after being overtaken by a monster at the end of Season 2. Overhead cocoons hint at an impending new era.
Season 3 will aim to wrap up character arcs, including:
- Nam Sang-won, who appeared in Pyeon Sang-wook's (Lee Jin-uk) body before Dr. Lim (Oh Jung-se).
- Eun-hyeok (Lee Do-hyun), reborn with a complete body from a cocoon.
- Yi-kyung (Lee Si-young), whose maternal instincts are conflicted by love and fear for her child Kid (Kim Sia), born as a monster.
- Eun-yu (Ko Min-si), who evolves from an adolescent student into a skilled warrior.
- Private Park (Jinyoung), who forms a bond with the solitary Eun-yu.
- Master Sergeant Tak (Yoo Oh-seong) from Crow Platoon and Kim Yeong-hu (Kim Moo-yeol), both pursuing similar goals through different methods.
The final showdown between monsters and humans is set for July 19 on Netflix.
