Arlington, Va. – Aerospace Industries Association (AIA) President and CEO Eric Fanning today commended the Senate Armed Services Committee on a successful markup of the Fiscal Year 2025 National Defense Authorization Act.

"The Aerospace Industries Association welcomes the Senate Armed Services Committee’s progress on the 2025 National Defense Authorization Act and congratulates them on their successful markup," Fanning stated.

"AIA thanks Chairman Reed and Ranking Member Wicker for their leadership that will equip and authorize our troops, build out our defense industrial base, and unleash the next generation of warfighting capabilities."

"We appreciate the committee – especially Ranking Member Wicker – for recognizing the need to match budget to threat and strategy and increasing the defense topline by $25 billion above the request. This boost will support much-needed investments in production capacity and enable the defense industrial base to do what it does best – innovate, collaborate, and produce cutting-edge technology."

Fanning concluded with optimism about future collaboration: "We look forward to continuing our work alongside Congress to get this critical legislation passed into law."
