Secretary of State Antony J. Blinken will deliver remarks to launch the U.S. Department of State-YouTube Global Music Partnership, as part of the Global Music Diplomacy Initiative, at 4:30 p.m. ET on Monday, June 24, at the Department of State. His remarks will outline the global scope of the Department’s partnership with YouTube to further the United States’ elevated commitment to use music to promote peace and democracy, as well as announce a new roster of U.S. Global Music Ambassadors.
Secretary Blinken will be joined by Lyor Cohen, Global Head of Music at YouTube; and several American artists who have stepped forward to serve as U.S. Global Music Ambassadors.
The Secretary’s remarks will be livestreamed on State.gov and youtube.com/StateDept and are open to pre-registered writers and still photographers. Video cameras will be pooled for the Secretary’s remarks and the announcement. Media who would like to cover in person must RSVP to ECA-Press@state.gov by 9:00 a.m. on June 21, 2024.
