Apple today previewed Apple The Exchange TRX, the first Apple Store in Malaysia. Located in Kuala Lumpur’s new Tun Razak Exchange (TRX) central business district, the store aims to deliver Apple's products and services to the country. Customers can explore and purchase Apple’s lineup of products, receive service from knowledgeable team members, and participate in free Today at Apple sessions.
“We live for moments when we can surprise and delight our customers, and we’re excited to do that in Malaysia with the opening of our first store in the country, Apple The Exchange TRX,” said Deirdre O’Brien, Apple’s senior vice president of Retail. “Being able to support and directly connect with a new community is always a special experience for our retail teams, and we can’t wait to welcome customers to this beautiful space designed for discovery, creativity, and shopping for the world’s most innovative products.”
At Apple The Exchange TRX, over 160 team members are prepared to assist customers with various products including the iPhone 15 lineup, MacBook Air with M3, and the latest iPad models such as the redesigned iPad Air and iPad Pro with M4.
The store will also serve as an educational hub offering free in-store sessions through Today at Apple. Led by Apple Creatives, these events will cover topics ranging from basic device usage to advanced photography and video tours utilizing the store's location.
To commemorate its opening, a special Today at Apple series titled “Jom Discover” will run from Saturday, June 22 through Saturday, July 6. This series will feature some of Malaysia’s notable creators showcasing their creative processes alongside Apple's product range. Sessions include performances by De Fam and workshops led by Jason smashpop on portrait photography using iPhone.
Apple The Exchange TRX connects a mall atrium to a rooftop park surrounding its upper level. At night, it emits a warm glow through its three-dimensional layered roof composed of horizontal glass panels designed to reduce sunlight exposure. A central glazed oculus brings daylight into the interior while featuring dynamic artificial lighting.
Inside the store is a quartz and glass staircase connecting three levels where customers can shop or attend Today at Apple programming located on a floating deck connected to the mall. The upper level links directly with the park edge via continuous glass façades bringing natural light inside.
Like all Apple facilities, this store operates on 100 percent renewable energy and is carbon neutral. It features high-quality materials such as natural stone walls, polished stainless-steel columns, terrazzo floors, and timber ceilings.
Visitors can explore display tables featuring new products like iPad Air with M2 or trade-in old devices for credit towards new purchases through personalized setup support provided by Apple Specialists.
For students preparing for back-to-school season or university offers running until September 30th that include complimentary AirPods or an Apple Pencil upon purchasing eligible devices are available both online or in-store under Apple's Education Pricing program.
The store also has an Apple Pickup counter facilitating convenient online order pickups along with technical support reservations available at Genius Bar appointments starting June 22nd at 10 am MYT where curated content celebrating Malaysian creativity across various platforms will be showcased during upcoming Today at Apple sessions.
