National Historic Landmarks Committee schedules virtual meeting on property nominations

ORGANIZATIONS IN THIS STORY

The National Park Service has announced a meeting of the National Historic Landmarks Committee of the National Park System Advisory Board. The meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, May 14 and Wednesday, May 15, 2024, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. (Eastern). It will be held virtually, with instructions and access information available online.

The purpose of this meeting is to evaluate nominations of historic properties and advise the Board on their qualifications for designation as National Historic Landmarks. Additionally, recommendations regarding amendments to existing designations and proposals for withdrawal of designations will be considered.

Committee members include Dr. Lindsay Robertson (Chair), Dr. David G. Anderson, Dr. Ethan Carr, Dr. Julio Cesar Capó Jr., Dr. Cynthia G. Falk, Dr. Victor Galen, Dr. Richard Longstreth, Dr. Alexandra M. Lord, Dr. Vergil E. Noble, Mr. Adam Smith, Dr. Sharita Jacobs Thompson, Dr. Carroll Van West, and Dr. Richard Guy Wilson.
