Secretary of State Antony J. Blinken spoke with Kuwaiti Foreign Minister Abdullah Ali al-Yahya on June 21, 2024. The discussion focused on efforts to reach a ceasefire in Gaza and secure the release of all hostages.

According to Spokesperson Matthew Miller, Secretary Blinken expressed gratitude for Kuwait’s role in facilitating humanitarian assistance into Gaza. They also deliberated on measures to ensure more aid reaches those in need and discussed plans for post-conflict governance, security, and reconstruction.

Both officials agreed on the necessity to prevent further escalation and expand bilateral cooperation to promote regional peace and stability.
