President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris have led the country through a strong recovery from the pandemic, with 15 million jobs created, inflation below 3 percent, and incomes rising faster than prices. However, prices remain high, prompting the Biden-Harris administration to take action to lower costs across families’ budgets.
The Center for American Progress will host an event featuring remarks by Neera Tanden, domestic policy adviser to President Biden. Tanden will highlight the administration’s agenda to reduce the cost of health care, housing, and child care. She will also discuss the challenges American families face and outline the administration’s priorities for continued progress in reducing the cost of living.
Opening remarks will be delivered by Navin Nayak, Counselor at the Center for American Progress. The keynote speaker will be Neera Tanden. Following her address, a discussion will feature Tanden alongside Emily Gee, Senior Vice President for Inclusive Growth at the Center for American Progress.
The event is scheduled for June 26, 2024, from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. ET. It will take place in person at 1333 H Street NW, Washington, D.C., with an option to join online.
