The Department of Labor will convene a meeting of the Advisory Council on Employee Welfare and Pension Benefit Plans, also known as the ERISA Advisory Council, from July 8-10 at the department’s Francis Perkins Building in Washington. The meeting will be open to the public and accessible both online and via teleconference.
During this session, the council will review two study topics for the year and receive an update from the department’s Employee Benefits Security Administration. The 2024 study topics are “Making Welfare Plan Claims and Appeals Procedures More Accessible to Participants” and “Lifetime Income and Qualified Defined Investment Alternatives.”
Established by the Employee Retirement Income Security Act, the ERISA Advisory Council advises the Secretary of Labor and submits recommendations regarding the secretary’s functions under ERISA.
