Arlington, Va. – Aerospace Industries Association (AIA) President and CEO Eric Fanning today released a statement on the passing of former Senator Jim Inhofe of Oklahoma.

“We at the Aerospace Industries Association mourn the loss of one of U.S. Senate’s greatest champions of American aerospace and defense, Senator Jim Inhofe of Oklahoma. A skilled pilot himself, Senator Inhofe leaves behind a remarkable legacy of dedication to the aviation community and steadfast support for our military – which earned him AIA’s highest honor, the Wright Stuff award, upon his retirement. As we remember and celebrate his many contributions to our sector, we extend our sympathies to Sen. Inhofe’s wife, Kay, and his loving family.”
