Shawn Ryan: '100,000 unaccompanied minors are currently unaccounted for in the U.S.'

Former Navy SEAL and media personality Shawn Ryan stated that 100,000 minors are "unaccounted for in the U.S." and are allegedly being exploited by cartels. Ryan made this statement in a post on X quoting his podcast guest Sheriff Mark Lamb on July 1.

"Approximately 100,000 unaccompanied minors are currently unaccounted for in the U.S., and it is believed they are being exploited by cartels for labor and s$x trafficking," said Ryan.

In an interview on the Shawn Ryan Show, Sheriff Mark Lamb, a Republican candidate for the U.S. Senate in Arizona, said these 100,000 children, who entered the United States without their parents or guardians, are in the hands of cartels who are using them for "hard labor and sex trade." In 2023, there were 32 million reports of child exploitation in the United States, compared to 4 million in 2014.

Lamb noted that cartel profits have increased from $500 million to $13 billion per year since 2021. He explained that profit is generated through smuggling and then used to fuel drug and child sex trafficking operations.

According to a study conducted by the Latin American Coalition Against Trafficking in Women, an estimated 60% of migrant children are either captives of cartels or victims of human trafficking or child pornography.

Ryan is a former Navy SEAL and media personality, according to his X profile. He is also the host of the podcast The Shawn Ryan Show.
