The United States has expressed approval for the 15-day extension of the humanitarian truce agreed upon by parties involved in the conflict in eastern Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC). The U.S. has urged all regional actors to honor this truce. Efforts will continue in collaboration with the governments of DRC, Rwanda, and Angola to support regional diplomatic initiatives under the Luanda and Nairobi processes aimed at achieving a lasting cessation of hostilities.
