Secretary of Defense Lloyd J. Austin III spoke with Ukrainian Minister of Defence Rustem Umerov yesterday to discuss current battlefield dynamics in Ukraine and security assistance priorities. Secretary Austin highlighted the success of the recent NATO Summit in demonstrating strong Allied support for Ukraine and provided an update on U.S. security assistance packages to Ukraine.
The two leaders pledged to remain in close contact.
