Netflix has commenced production on the new Dutch comedy series "Football Parents" ("Voetbalouders"). Written and directed by Ilse Warringa and produced by Hollands Licht, the series explores the humorous side of overenthusiastic parents interfering with their children's football performances. The cast includes Eva van Gessel, Mariana Aparicio, Michiel Nooter, Edwin Jonker, Bas Hoeflaak, Guido Pollemans, Leonoor Koster, Nyncke Beekhuyzen, Arnoud Bos, Gurkan Küçüksentürk, Evrim Akyigit, Rian Gerritsen, Steef Cuijpers and René van ‘t Hof. The series is expected to be available on Netflix in 2025.
Ilse Warringa shared her inspiration for the show: "For years, I've been spending my weekends on the sidelines cheering for my two football-playing children. A few years ago when they asked me to stop cheering and shouting, I realized that that was the beginning of a new comedy series. I am incredibly excited to transform my experiences as a football mom into a relatable and humorous show because the antics of parents on the sidelines are best met with laughter."

The series centers around Lillian and her son Levi who is new to his football team. Lillian quickly finds herself wanting to escape from a group of quirky parents led by Marenka but faces challenges as Levi forms a friendship with Vito—Marenka's eccentric son.
The cast includes Ilse Warringa alongside Eva van Gessel, Mariana Aparicio, Michiel Nooter, Edwin Jonker among others. Directed by Ilse Warringa and Albert Jan Van Rees with writing credits also going to Warringa; it is produced by Hollands Licht.
"Football Parents" is set for release on Netflix in 2025.
