The House Judiciary Committee and its Subcommittee on Immigration Integrity, Security, and Enforcement released an interim report regarding four Venezuelan illegal aliens arrested in connection with a violent knifepoint attack on a 49-year-old man riding a Chicago Transit Authority (CTA) train in February 2024.
The victim was put into a chokehold until he became unconscious and was robbed of $400 and a cellphone. At the time of the attack, three of the attackers—Carlos Carreno-Carreno, Johandry Loyo-Rodriguez, and Yonnier Guasamucare-Garcia—were on pretrial release following arrests for shoplifting offenses that occurred just weeks prior. According to press reports, all four men listed their home addresses as state-funded migrant shelters.
"The disastrous immigration policies of the Biden-Harris Administration have had real-world consequences for American citizens," stated the report. "The effects of those policies will be felt for years to come, with criminal aliens in American neighborhoods harming families and hurting public safety across the country."
The report emphasized that "the man assaulted on a Chicago train will never be the same because the Biden-Harris Administration allowed the illegal aliens to enter the country." It further noted that "tragically, the victim of Carlos Luis Carreno-Carreno, Yonnier Jose Guasamucare-Garcia, Johandry Fernando Loyo-Rodriguez, and Wilker Miguel Gutierrez Sierra is not the only victim of criminal illegal aliens."
