The U.S. Department of Commerce has announced the graduation of its inaugural class of Customer Experience (CX) Champions and CX Advocates. The 50 graduates, representing nearly every bureau and most headquarters offices, completed industry-leading customer experience curricula provided by Forrester Research, Inc.

These employees have developed skills aimed at making the Department’s services more accessible, efficient, and effective for the American public. Graduates reported increased confidence in applying their new CX knowledge and skills. They expressed a greater likelihood to advocate for CX with senior leadership, understand customer needs better, and sponsor or lead CX improvement projects.

Looking ahead, these graduates will play a key role in establishing and expanding the Department’s emerging CX Community of Practice. Their efforts will help strengthen a customer-centric culture within the Department and deliver results supporting Strategic Objective 5.3: Equitably deliver exceptional customer experience as outlined in the 2022-2026 Strategic Plan.

The Department plans to announce the application process for joining the FY 2025 cohort of CX champions and advocates in the coming months.
