Orlando man pleads guilty to enticement of minor, producing child abuse material

ORGANIZATIONS IN THIS STORY

An Orlando man has pleaded guilty to charges of enticement of a minor for sexual activity and production of child sexual abuse material. The plea follows an investigation conducted by Homeland Security Investigations (HSI).

Theron Charles Lord, 36, could face a minimum mandatory sentence of 15 years and up to life in federal prison for the production offense. For the enticement offense, he faces a minimum mandatory penalty of 10 years and up to life. Lord has also agreed to forfeit the cellphone used in committing these offenses. A sentencing date is yet to be determined.

According to the plea agreement, Lord met a 15-year-old victim online and their communications quickly became sexual. These messages spanned from March until August 2022. In April 2022, Lord drove to meet the victim and sexually abused them. Between April and November 2022, they met in person at least six times, during which sexual abuse occurred each time. Lord recorded videos of these incidents and also had the victim create and send specific videos of child sexual abuse.

The case was investigated by HSI Orlando and the Rockledge Police Department. Assistant U.S. Attorney Kaley Austin-Aronson is prosecuting the case.
