Secretary of State Antony J. Blinken met with Iraqi Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Dr. Fuad Hussein today in Washington D.C. On the occasion of the D-ISIS Ministerial, Secretary Blinken emphasized the ongoing U.S. commitment to defeating ISIS globally to ensure greater security and stability.

The meeting focused on sustaining diplomatic efforts to prevent conflict escalation in the region. Both leaders reaffirmed their shared vision for building an enduring partnership between the United States and Iraq, aligned with the Strategic Framework Agreement.
"The two leaders discussed the importance of sustaining diplomatic efforts to prevent the escalation of conflicts in the region," stated Miller.
They also highlighted a comprehensive security relationship that supports a stable, secure, and sovereign Iraq.
