The United States has extended its congratulations to Claudia Sheinbaum on her inauguration as President of Mexico. Secretary of State Antony J. Blinken issued a statement recognizing the significance of the democratic process in Mexico and acknowledging the historic nature of this event.
"We also congratulate the people of Mexico for making their voices heard through the democratic process and for this historic day," Blinken stated.
He emphasized the strong relationship between the United States and Mexico, highlighting shared democratic values, economic ties, and cultural connections. "We deeply value our strong relationship with Mexico, which is based on shared democratic values, deep economic ties, and strong cultural and familial bonds," he said.
Blinken expressed optimism about future collaborations under President Sheinbaum's leadership. "We look forward to working with President Sheinbaum as neighbors, friends, and partners to build on the strong U.S.-Mexico partnership and to advance our shared objective of making North America the most dynamic, competitive, and prosperous region in the world," he added.
