The two leaders emphasized the importance of implementing UN Security Council Resolution 1701 in Lebanon. This resolution aims to enable civilians on both sides of the Israel-Lebanon border to return to their homes safely.
In addition, Secretary Blinken and Prime Minister Al Thani addressed mediation efforts concerning Gaza. They discussed reaching a durable ceasefire agreement that would ensure the release of all hostages, increase humanitarian assistance, and alleviate civilian suffering in the region.
Secretary Blinken expressed gratitude towards Prime Minister Al Thani for Qatar's significant role in addressing these challenges and other regional and global issues.
