U.S. Ambassador at Large for Cyberspace and Digital Policy Nathaniel C. Fick is set to visit Italy and Belgium from October 9 to 15. During his stay in Rome from October 11 to 13, he will attend the G7 Ministerial Meeting on Industry and Technological Innovation. Discussions there will focus on enhancing digital development, finding solutions for resilient critical supply chains like semiconductors, and encouraging the adoption of AI and emerging technologies.
Following this, Ambassador Fick will travel to Brussels, Belgium, on October 13-14. In Brussels, he plans to meet with European Union and NATO representatives to advance cooperation in cyber and digital policy. He will then return to Italy until October 15 for the G7 Digital and Technology Ministerial Meeting in Como-Cernobbio. This meeting will address topics such as digital government, digital identity, AI in the public sector, and the Hiroshima Process International Code of Conduct for Organizations Developing Advanced AI Systems.
The work conducted under the G7 Digital and Technology track is considered vital for advancing U.S. digital policy approaches while promoting an innovative digital economy alongside safe, secure, and trustworthy use of AI and related emerging technologies.
