Under Secretary for Economic Growth, Energy, and the Environment Jose W. Fernandez is set to visit Serbia from October 9 to 11. The trip aims to strengthen cooperation through the Minerals Security Partnership Forum by developing diverse and sustainable critical minerals supply chains. Additionally, the visit will focus on promoting trade and economic opportunities with the United States.
In Belgrade, Under Secretary Fernandez plans to meet with Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić and officials from various ministries including Foreign Affairs, Energy, Finance, and Telecommunications. Discussions will also involve representatives from both Serbian and U.S. private sectors, notably those in critical minerals and energy companies.
The visit is expected to further develop a strong relationship between the U.S. and Serbia based on shared values and goals. It seeks to reaffirm U.S. support for enhancing economic, critical minerals, and energy cooperation not only in Serbia but throughout Europe.
